A vessel of honour.

Mon, 7th Mar, 2016.

Good morning God’s people. We thank the Lord for a new week and a new day in Him. I pray our daily activities will be in accordance to the will of God. In everything we do today, let us seek for the Lord’s will first. Today we learn something about we being vessels of honour. Please let us read 2 Tim 2:20-21 from the KJV Bible.

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work”.

The great house we see here represents the Church; the body of Christ on earth. And in this great house are not only vessels of gold and of silver but also wood and earth(clay). Have we considered the reason why there are not only vessels of gold and silver in the Church? I believe when Christ died on the cross for us, He expected us to be those who would serve Him at all times, living righteously unto Him.
Indeed the Lord requires us to be vessels of honour, used by Him unto good works. The desire of every Christian should be that he or she will be a vessel of gold or of silver, used by the Lord unto honour. Therefore what we have to do on our part is to repent and desist from every form of sin, living righteously unto Him and He will sanctify us from all sin. With this, the Lord will know how ready we are to be used in His house; the Church. May God grace us all. Amen.
