An act of giving

Sat, 20th Feb, 2016..

Good morning to you all God’s people. We thank the Lord once again for His immeasurable blessings bestowed upon us. Seeing a new day like this is basically a blessing. May His name be forever praised in our lives. Today we learn about the act of giving. Please let us read these verses from the KJV Bible.

“Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”- Matthew 6:2-4
“Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.”- Proverbs 21:13

We thank God for His Words of life. As we all know, it takes love for one to give out sincerely. Giving is a good act, but when it is done in an insincere manner, sorry to say there is no essence in it. We should never give and regret later on. As we can see from the first verse, we should not be like the hypocrites whenever we are giving. One serious issue occurring nowadays is that most Christians seek after vain glory. Some only give because they want to have the glory of men. This is an act of hypocrisy and it is very serious. May the Lord forgive us if we have ever given insincerely.

The Lord requires us to give, but our giving should be out of a pure heart; a heart of love. There is always a reward for the one who gives; either sincerely or insincerely. May we show love to the needy and poor, and I believe our reward will be provided to us by the Almighty who sees in secret.
Let us always exercise the act of giving sincerely. God bless you. Amen. Please share a word with the world.
