Glory and honour be to the Lord God Almighty for the faithfulness and mercies He has shown in our lives. He alone deserves our absolute praise. May we always appreciate the things He does in our lives. We bless the Lord for giving us another day to study His Word. Today we learn something about confessing our sins to the Lord and also to one another. Please let us read these verses from the KJV Bible.
“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” – Proverbs 28:13
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16
What is confession? It simply means to admit to the truth, particularly in the context of sins or crimes committed.
Do we admit to the wrongs that we do, especially to other people? If we do not then that means we do not practice confession. The Bible encourages us to practice confession because it is of great benefit to us. There are times we feel that it is better if we confess directly to the Lord. Yes it is very good to do that, but confessing to the fellow whom you wronged also really matters.
Normally when we confess to the ones whom we hurt first, it creates a sound and a guilty-free conscience for us to also appear to the Lord and confess to Him. If the sins that we committed are not to the detriment of anyone, then we can boldly confess to the Lord. For if one confesses his sins to the Lord, the Lord who is full of mercy, shall provide unto him His mercy and grace to live righteous.
May we gain a humble and simple heart to always see how faulty we are in order to confess our sins to one another and to God Himself. God bless you.Amen.
