By: O. Samuel
Hello brethren, we thank the Lord so much for blessing us with this new day. May we always give thanks to Him for He is good and His mercy endures forever. Today, we talk about how to hear the Lord whenever He speaks to us. Please let us read 1 Samuel 3:10 from the KJV Bible. “And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.”
I believe we all know the story of Samuel as when he was very young. He did not know much about the Lord at that time. The Bible says he was called by the Lord twice before, and he had no idea it was the Lord who was actually calling him. He rather thought it was Eli who did call him. He was inexperienced at that time of his life.
The Lord calls us in so many ways. He talks to us in so many different ways. But we seem not to have realized any of them. Our minds are clouded with more of the things of the flesh. We are restricted to hear whenever the Lord speaks and that is just because we have putten away our spiritual self. The truth is that God speaks to us only through our spirit. In the same way, we can only speak to God through our spirit.
How often do we avail ourselves in the Spirit for God to be able to speak to us? I think it is high time we put away our fleshy self and rather put on our spiritual self in order to make it possible for us to get in touch with the Lord whenever He calls us. But remember, for us to be able to live in the Spirit, then we need to live a righteous life. May we gain more grace to always live in the Spirit. God bless you. Amen.
