By: O. Samuel

Beloved, I thank God for the lives of each one of us. He keeps on preserving our lives for His glorious purpose in this world. May we always accept every training He passes us through. Today, we learn something about “prayer”. Please let us read the following verses from the KJV Bible.

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” – Mark 11:24
“And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”  – 1 John 3:22

Prayer as we all know is the a devine way of communicating with the Lord. Normally we pray the prayer of supplication. Please let us look at the first verse. It says that whatever we ask for in our prayer, we receive on one condition and that is to believe. With the second verse too, the condition is that we keep His commandments, in other words, we live righteously. These two conditions are very crucial in our prayer life.

Have we ever prayed and not received an answer? No. In every prayer that we pray, we are always provided with an answer. Yes, it can be now or some time to come, or the answer can be yes or no. But during every time of prayer, we must consider these two conditions; believe and keep His commandments. Whenever we want to pray to the Lord, there is the need to apply His blood before we make our requests known to Him. With this, our fellowship with the Lord is regained or made stronger.

May God bless us with a heart that will always believe and keep His commandments. We bless God. Amen.
